Wine Country

Who knew when the 2010 East Coast Holiday was planned that Ohio is one of the top 10 wine producing states in the U.S.? Take the time to stop by and see where more than 850,000 gallons of wine are produced every year. Ohio’s wines are produced from the various grapes such as Vinifera, the type of grape from which Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Riesling wines are made. Here, you can learn more about the grapes and production process as well as get to taste and see for yourself how your favorite wines are made. This experience is sure to cause another one of those “We have to come back to Cleveland next year” comments!
Amish Country

There is nothing like the tranquility and simplicity of the country. Taking the time to explore Ohio’s Amish Country at your own pace will allow you to delve into the unique culture of Central Ohio’s Amish. This beautiful, scenic area is the home of the world’s largest Amish community. Here, you will be able enjoy a visit to an Amish farm, savor the homemade foods, and listen for the clip clops of approaching horse and buggies. The shops here will add to your genuine experience when you discover their skillfully handmade quilts, artwork, jewelry and furniture in Millersburg, Berlin, and Walnut Creek.
THURSDAY
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Induction Ceremonies may take place in New York, but Cleveland is the Home of this unbelievable monument to the music and artists that we all grew up with. Music’s history lives on through the Rock Hall’s exhibits, artifacts, and live performances, all of which you will be able to experience when attending the 2010 East Coast Holiday Opening Event on Thursday night, September 23rd. If visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was on your “To Do” list when visiting Cleveland, then you are not going to want to miss this. The event begins at 7pm and we have even arranged to have you chauffeured there! If you listened to the radio at all in 1960/70/80… you need to be here!
Hill Climb
So you want to see how you do revving the engine up a .5 mile hill with elevation change of 250 feet? And you want to watch as some of your fellow 356ers cross the finish line? Then this is not to be missed. And we promise two (2) runs per person!
Tech Sessions
We have several Tech Sessions planned, including some traditional topics AND a unique, once in a lifetime panel Q&A emceed by Chuck Stoddard. Come learn about the history of the cars, the evolution of paint, and lots of other topics. This is not to be missed!
FRIDAY
Autocross
Northfield Park has a huge parking lot just 8 miles from the hotel. Wide open space for a great autocross event! What could be better than participating with a lot of 356ers going through sets of gates, slaloms, and turns? Whether this is your first time or you are experienced, autocross is great fun. It’s second gear and steer. He/she with the best time wins. We guarantee at least 3 runs, and are shooting for more.
NASA Lewis Glenn

The 2010 East Coast Holiday was only able to secure 40 spots on Friday, September 24th for a tour of this legendary NASA facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a sought after pass that is not generally available to the public. The NASA Glenn Research Center is “Rocket Science at its Best”, as one committee member claims. A visit to the Center includes an interactive Aero Adventure, a Tribute to John Glenn, the very popular Apollo Era exhibit, and more! This experience will be sure to conjure up your own personal memories of when Man walked on the moon, and other historic Space flights.
Your tour of the NASA Glenn Research Center will begin promptly at 10am on Friday, the 24th. Sign up early to reserve your spot and don’t be late or they’ll take off without you!
Open Houses
Several local dealerships and 356 shops will be open for your visit including Stoddard Porsche, Panelwerks, Fred Baker Porsche, Best in Show.
Chagrin Falls

North Eastern Ohio has a very strong New England influence caused in part by the Connecticut groups that settled here in the late 1700s. Aptly called the lands of the “Western Reserve” these Pioneers left their mark in architecture, and culture. Chagrin Falls, which represents this lineage well, will welcome our group on Friday night for a cocktail party and an impromptu “blocking off the streets” car show. Come early visit the many shops, dine and drink on your own, the choices will be great and endless!
SATURDAY
Concours at Beechmont Country Club
Feast your eyes on about 200 Porsche 356’s in a unique setting. The vista of the 18th hole, 1st hole and driving range is truly lush and beautiful. Myron Vernis is our concours chair extraordinaire. Beechmont is not generally open to the public. Show your car. Cast your vote for People’s Choice awards. Enjoy a grilled to order lunch. Ahh, it’s a day amongst great cars and great friends.
Literature and Toy Meet
On Saturday the 25th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm please join in the fun of the toy and literature show in the hotel atrium right off the lobby. You are encouraged to reserve a table to sell or just stop by and shop for that perfect piece of 356 unobtainable. All types of 356 memorabilia are acceptable but please save the greasy stuff for the Sunday morning outdoor swap meet. Any questions? Contact Bill Ramsey 330-628-1913 or bill@wcramsey.com
Awards Banquet and Dancing
An awards banquet is an awards banquet? Maybe not. Dinner will be served; presentation will be beautiful. See montage of pictures from the weekend’s events. See a photo of each winning car as awards are presented for the Concours, Hill Climb, and Autocross. We promise to NOT make these awards go on forever, honest! Door prizes. Special guest speaker: Chuck Stoddard. And wear your dancing shoes. You may want to kick up your heels or slide around the dance floor listening to a live band with swing music and more.
SUNDAY
Swap Meet
Here’s a chance to find – or sell – or both pieces and parts for your 356.
